Mamelodi Sundowns vs ES Tunis Predictions - Brazilians to reach semis with home victory

These sides have met on just three previous occasions with ES Tunis holding a 2-0 lead with one draw.

They met a week ago in the first leg as Esperance won 1-0 at home. 

Sundowns have only been beaten once in their last 23 matches. They lost the first leg a week ago in their pursuit of a place in the CAF Champions League final.

A 1-0 win at Cape Town Spurs preceded a win on penalties after a  1-1 draw at University of Pretoria in the Nedbank Cup. After surrendering a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at Moroka Swallows, they lost 1-0 to ES Tunis last weekend. 

In midweek, Downs rested their entire XI. They still beat Sekhukhune United 2-1 at home thanks to two strikes in the first seven minutes. 

Midfielder Bongani Zungu is out injured. Coach Rhulani Mokwena is hopeful of star midfielder Teboho Mokoena being available. 

Peter Shalulile was benched for the first leg but the striker should start this one. Veteran playmaker Themba Zwane will also return to the XI.

ES Tunis sit top of Tunisia’s Ligue 1 Championship Playoff Round. They finished second in Group C to reach the CAF Champions League quarter-finals. 

A 1-0 home win over Al Hilal Omdurman completed Group C before three successive Ligue 1 wins to zero. They won the quarter-finals on penalties after home and away 0-0 draws vs ASEC Mimosas.

After a 1-1 draw away at Monastir in the league match, they beat Sundowns last weekend. A 1-0 victory provided a first-leg lead going into this return fixture.

Esperance Sportive de Tunis head coach Miguel Cardoso has a fully fit squad with no suspensions.

ES Tunis had all week to prepare for this match and will be fresh.
