Turkey have looked average in four friendlies, beginning with a 1-0 defeat in Hungary and 6-1 thrashing in Austria. They steadied the ship with a 0-0 draw in Italy, ending with a 2-1 defeat in Poland where they conceded in the 90th minute.

Montella has been dealt some big blows on the injury front with defenders Çağlar Söyüncü, Ozan Kabak and Ridvan Yilmaz all out. The attack is depleted with Enes Ünal and Cengiz Ünder on the treatment table.

Hakan Çalhanoğlu leads the midfield, Orkun Kökçü and Arda Güler providing the spark for scorers Kenan Yildiz, Semih Kiliçsoy and Cenk Tosun. Tosun has scored 20 goals in 51 appearances.

Georgia Form

Georgia were poor in the European Championship qualifiers, finishing fourth in Group A after losing four of their eight games. That included three straight defeats, highlighted by a 7-1 thumping against Spain.

Willy Sagnol’s side got into the tournament through the play-offs after winning their group in the UEFA Nations League. Budu Zivzivadze scored twice in a 2-0 semi-final win against Luxembourg.

The Crusaders saw Giorgi Loria sent off in the 45th minute against Greece. They held on with 10 men, taking it to a 0-0 draw and penalty shootout where they prevailed.

Georgia played one friendly in June, a 3-1 win in Montenegro where Otar Kiteishvili, Georges Mikautadze and Budu Zivzivadze were on the score sheet.

Vladimer Mamuchashvili, Irakli Azarovi and Giorgi Aburjania were left out of the squad.

Midfielder Jaba Kankava retired after earning 102 caps.

Otar Kiteishvili is doubtful after coming off in the 50th minute against Montenegro.

Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili leads from the back with Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia the star of the team. Kvaratskhelia has scored 15 goals in 30 appearances.

Metz striker Georges Mikautadze has netted 10 goals in 25 caps.
