To earn their spot in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, Los Angeles FC faced Club America in the play-in finals. Igor Jesus was their savior with his late equalizer to force extra-time where Denis Bouanga scored game-winning goal (2-1).

They started the tournament with a 2-0 loss against favored Chelsea, ending the clash with 0.85-2.24 expected goals, 35% possession and 7-17 shots.

As for their Major League Soccer campaign, LAFC have accumulated 26 points from 16 matches (seven wins, five draws, four defeats) and currently sit 5th in the West.

Esperance de Tunis also kicked off their Club World Cup campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Flamengo, having just 0.24 xG, 32% possession and two shots on target.
