Cameroon were the first African side to ever reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup in 1990. While they have consistently been among the top sides in Africa, they have failed to match that feat again.
In fact, the Indomitable Lions have qualified for eight World Cup tournaments (including 2022) and have failed to get past the group stage, bar for their quarter-final appearance in 1990.
Including their first two games of the 2022 tournament, Cameroon have lost eight of their last nine matches, drawing one. Their last win came against Saudi Arabia in 2002.
