Sierra Leone must win to keep their slender chance of making the World Cup finals alive. Ethiopia look unlikely to progress further after their recent defeat. A BTTS draw is predicted between Sierra Leone and Ethiopia.

  • Sierra Leone have drawn 2 of their 5 fixtures.
  • Sierra Leone have scored 5 goals in 5 games.
  • Sierra Leone have conceded 6 goals in 5 matches.
  • Ethiopia have won 2 of their last 5 fixtures.

Head to Head

Sierra Leone and Ethiopia drew 0-0 in a 2023 FIFA World Cup qualifier in the only meeting between the teams.

Sierra Leone Form

Sierra Leone had to settle for a share of the spoils in their FIFA World Cup qualifying clash with Guinea-Bissau last week, after the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Sierra Leone were on course to go into the break on level terms with Guinea-Bissau before grabbing the lead in the first minute of stoppage time.

Sierra Leone held onto their advantage for just half an hour into the second half before Guinea-Bissau equalised after 74 minutes of play.

Sierra Leone are in 3rd place in Group A with nine points from seven matches. They have won two, drawn three, and lost two.

The Leone Stars have secured one victory in their last five fixtures, including two defeats and two draws. They scored five goals and conceded ten.

Sierra Leone have lacked consistency in recent outings and must produce a clinical display up front to secure the win against Ethiopia.

Ethiopia Form

Ethiopia had no answer against Egypt in their FIFA World Cup qualifier last weekend, losing 2-0 in Cairo.

Ethiopia gave away two penalties towards the end of the first half. Egypt converted both spot kicks in the 41st minute of the match and in the second minute of stoppage time.

Ethiopia were not able to find a way back during the remainder of the second half.

Ethiopia are in 5th place in the Group A standings with six points from seven matches. They have recorded one victory, three defeats, and three draws.

Walia Ibex have won two of their last five matches, including three defeats. They scored eight goals and conceded eight goals at the back.

Ethiopia have struggled to produce consistent results during their qualifying campaign and will have to play well to beat Sierra Leone.
