Tunisia vs Mauritania Predictions

Tunisia are a formidable team and will be very motivated by being able to secured qualification during their FIFA break. Mauritania are poor travellers and have made a poor start to the qualifiers. I am tipping a comfortable home win.

Head to Head

Tunisia hold a 5-0 advantage against Mauritania across seven previous meetings with two 0-0 draws.

The sides last met in September 2019 as Tunisia won 1-0 in a friendly match.

Tunisia Form

Tunisia have lost just once in their last 16 matches and that was a friendly defeat to Algeria. Five wins and a draw saw them qualify with ease for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Eagles of Carthage finished AFCON qualifying with a 5-2 win in Libya and 2-1 home win against Equatorial Guinea. Three friendlies with two 1-0 wins and the 1-0 loss to Algeria.

They started 2022 World Cup qualifying by beating Equatorial Guinea 3-0 at home before a solid 2-0 win in Zambia. Wahbi Khazri scored a penalty before a last minute goal from Anis Ben Slimane.

Mauritania qualified for the 2022 AFCON as a 0-0 home draw with Morocco was followed by winning 1-0 away in Central African Republic.

Two friendly matches followed in the June FIFA break as they lost 4-1 to Algeria and beat Liberia 1-0. A 2-0 win against Yemen came next in an Arab Cup qualifier.

Their last two matches saw damaging defeats in 2022 World Cup qualifying. They lost 2-1 at home to Zambia and 1-0 in Equatorial Guinea.
