Head to Head

The DR Congo have the advantage with seven victories to two against Angola, including three draws in 12 meetings.

Angola Form

Angola returned to winning ways in the CAF African Nations Championship after edging Zambia by two goals to one last weekend.

Angola created chances to score in the first half against Zambia, but could not put the ball in the back of the net.

Angola were the first to concede when Zambia scored after 73 minutes of play; however, they held their lead for six minutes before Angola equalised, and went on to score the winner in the 86th minute of the match.

Palancas Negras had 62% possession and 23 shots during the match, with five attempts on target.

Before that, Angola lost 2-0 to Morocco and drew 1-1 against Kenya in their opening CHAN matches.

Palancas Negras have secured three victories in their last five fixtures, including two losses and one draw. They scored ten goals and conceded five.

Angola will be pleased to have picked up all three points in their previous outing, but face a tricky test against a DR Congo side that they seldom beat. Can they win back-to-back CHAN matches?

However, the DR Congo did not take long after the restart to score their first goal against Zambia, taking the lead in the 51st minute of the match and doubling their advantage 20 minutes later.

The DRC had 40% possession and 13 shots in the game, with four attempts on target.

The DR Congo lost 1-0 to co-hosts Kenya in their opening Group A game.

The Leopards of the DR Congo have won four of their last five fixtures, including one defeat. They scored eight goals and let in two at the back.

The DR Congo will fancy their chances against Angola after their latest victory, as they have not lost against their opponents in their last six encounters, which includes four victories.
