Burkina Faso Form

Burkina Faso had no answer in their opening African Nations Championship Group B fixture, losing 2-0 to co-hosts Tanzania.

Burkina Faso were on course to go into the halftime break with the score unchanged since kickoff before Tanzania slotted home a penalty in the third minute of stoppage time.

Burkina Faso had moments to level matters in the second half, but Tanzania scored again in the 71st minute of the match.

The Stallions had 39% possession and 12 shots in the match, with three attempts on target.

Before that result, Burkina Faso lost 2-0 to Tunisia, beat Zimbabwe 2-0 and drew 1-1 against Guinea in three international friendlies played in June and July.

The Stallions have won two of their last five fixtures, including two losses and one draw. They scored five goals and conceded six.

Burkina Faso have an opportunity to get their CHAN campaign back on track when they take on a Central African Republic side battling to win their matches.
