The hosts will be looking to bounce back from a defeat to Siwelele at the weekend in their PSL opener while Richards Bay FC also lost at home to Marumo Gallants. Neither side looked particularly impressive and with this being a derby, I am backing a draw.

Golden Arrows will be concerned with their defensive record recently. While not much can be read into friendlies, prior to the season starting, they did lose 3-2 to AmaZulu.

That trend continued this past weekend as Arrows suffered a 3-1 away loss to Siwelele. After going 2-0 down in the first 22 minutes, Arrows pulled a goal back on the 50th minute mark through Keenan Phillips.

Unfortunately, that didn't last long as six minutes later, Siwelele scored again to wrap up the points.

Richards Bay FC Form

Richards Bay have had a horror start to their 2024/25 season. At the start of August, in the MTN 8 Cup, Richards Bay FC suffered a 4-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns.

After being knocked out of the cup, the KZN-based outfit began their PSL campaign at home against Marumo Gallants. Richards Bay conceded in the third minute before Gallants went down to 10 men in the 39th minute.

The player advantage paid dividends in the 55th mintue when Lundi Mahala leveled the game up. However, Gallants scored a winner in the 91st minute with 10 men to secure the points.
