The centre back only joined Amakhosi in October and was yet to make his debut for the club. The tragic killing has cut short a promising life.

Humble Beginnings to Bafana Bafana

Luke Donn Fleurs was signed by the Ubuntu Cape Town academy as a 13-year-old boy. By the time he was 17, he was playing first-team matches in South Africa’s National First Division.

A move to SuperSport United saw him feature 70 times for Matsatsantsa. In 2021, he was called up by Hugo Broos to the national team. He was unused in two matches against Ethiopia.

Last October, he was released by SuperSport United due a lack of game time. He promptly joined Kaizer Chiefs as a free agent.

The former Under-23 international represented South Africa at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
