Both sides have started the season poorly and are in desperate need of some points. Given their struggles, I am backing this PSL fixture to end level.

Chippa United did the double on Richards Bay last season. Chippa beat Richards Bay 4-0 and 1-0, both on home soil.

Richards Bay have made a horror start to the PSL season, losing all three matches. They are currently at the bottom of the table and have conceded four goals whilst scoring just once.

In the opening round of the season, Richards Bay lost 2-1 at home to Marumo Gallants despite having a man advantage for much of the fixture. That was followed by a 1-0 loss to Golden Arrows in a KZN derby.

On Tuesday last week, Richards Bay went down 1-0 at Kaizer Chiefs. That was their third successive loss, and they’ll be eager to get on the board this weekend.

Chippa United Form

Chippa United are second from bottom with just a point in their opening three games. They have lost twice and drawn once.

The season opened with a superb performance for Chippa as they drew 1-1 at home against the defending PSL champions, Mamelodi Sundowns. That performance showed early promise for the season ahead.

Unfortunately, Chippa followed that up with a 1-0 loss to newly promoted Durban City before going down 4-1 to TS Galaxy last Tuesday on home soil. Khaya Mfecane got Chippa off to a flying start, scoring in the fifth minute, but everything went downhill from there.
