The Serie A side dropped league points for a second consecutive match after the Liverpool win. Atalanta gave up a 2-0 lead and drew 2-2 at home against Hellas Verona on Monday.

Gianluca Scamacca and Ederson scored in the first 18 minutes to put Atalanta ahead. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side then conceded twice early in the first half.

Liverpool lost their third Europa League match in six against Atalanta in the first leg.

Liverpool were 1-0 down after 13 minutes against Palace and couldn’t reply, despite having 3.04 expected goals.
