South Africa vs Bangladesh Women Predictions - Brits in the runs again as SA batter Bangladesh

Editor
Last updated: 11 Oct 2025

In the cricket match-up between South Africa Women and Bangladesh Women, South Africa comes in with a strong performance record, having recently defeated India and New Zealand. Their batsmen, Tazmin Brits and Laura Wolvaardt, have delivered significant innings in recent games. Meanwhile, Bangladesh Women, despite having a commendable bowling attack led by Rabeya Khan, have struggled to close out matches, faltering in their batting department. With South Africa's high morale and consistent form, the South African team is predicted to win, with Brits expected to be the top scorer.

South Africa vs Bangladesh Women Predictions

After their disaster against England, South Africa have been brilliant in the field and with the bat, beating New Zealand and then tournament favourites India. Bangladesh have played some brilliant cricket and could so easily have turned their two losses into wins. I doubt they will be able to pick themselves up yet again against a tough Proteas side.

  • South Africa Women’s Tazmin Brits scored 101 off 89 balls in the win over New Zealand.
  • South Africa Women’s Laura Wolvaardt scored 70 off 111 balls against India.
  • Bangladesh Women’s Sobhana Mostary has scored 24* & 60 in her last 3 innings.
  • Bangladesh Women’s Fahima Khatun top-scored with 34 off 80 balls in the loss to New Zealand.

Head-to-Head

South Africa Women have won four and lost one of their last five matches against Bangladesh Women.

South Africa Women Form

South Africa Women made it three wins from their last five matches (including two on the bounce) when they beat India by three wickets.

South Africa had India in huge trouble at 102/6 in the 26th over, thanks to brilliant bowling from Nonkululeko Mlaba (2/46) and Chloe Tryon (3/32). India staged a brilliant recovery to post 251 off 49.5 overs.

Laura Wolvaardt (70 off 111) got the innings off to a good start before the Proteas wilted to 81/5. Chloe Tryon (49 off 66) played a key role, but it was Nadine de Klerk’s undefeated 84 off 54 balls that sealed a thrilling win.

South Africa Women Team News

South Africa are in superb form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team. Nadine de Klerk played one of the greatest innings in the history of the Cricket World Cup, but she shouldn’t be needed against Bangladesh if the Proteas’ top-order fires.

Bangladesh Women Form

Bangladesh Women slumped to their fourth defeat in their last five matches when they lost to New Zealand by 100 runs.

Bangladesh’s bowlers again starred in this competition, reducing New Zealand to 38/3, with Rabeya Khan (3/30, econ 3.00) the star of the Bangladesh attack. The Silver Ferns recovered to post 227/9 off their 50 overs.

Bangladesh slumped to 33/6 before Fahima Khatun (34 off 80) staged a brave recovery mission. It was not enough and Bangladesh were bowled out for 127 just one ball shy of 40 overs.

Bangladesh Women Team News

Bangladesh’s bowlers have been incredible in this tournament, but their batting has let them down. If they don’t beat South Africa then they will have a seriously difficult time qualifying for the semi-finals.

Verdict

I am backing South Africa Women to win. I am also backing Tazmin Brits to top score for South Africa Women.

Sobhana Mostary is a good bet to top score for the Bangladesh Women.
