The Super Kings struggled against the Royals attack and could only raise a score of 187/8 off their 20 overs on a good batting track. Ayush Mhatre (43 off 20 balls), Dewald Brevis (42 off 25) and Shivam Dube (39 off 32) weighed in with valuable runs.

The Royals raced to the win with six wickets and 17 balls in hand. Ravichandran Ashwin (2/41) was the pick of the Super Kings bowlers.

The prospects of beating the Titans to get out of last place could motivate the Super Kings to end a miserable season with a big finish. With nothing to lose they could give the Titans some headaches, although their poor form suggests that might just be wishful thinking.
