Ireland have not played ODI cricket for some time with focus being on the T20 World Cup earlier this year. Thereafter they played one Test and two T20I games.

Their two-match T20 series against South Africa over the last few days ended 1-1. Ireland lost the first game but came back in the second to win by 10 runs.

Ross Adair smashed 100 off 58 balls in the 2nd T20I and will look to carry that form in the ODI format.

Paul Stirling captains a strong Irish side. Andy Balbirnie and Stirling will be key at the top of the order while Curtis Campher has proven himself a very good allrounder.

South Africa Form

South Africa reached the final of the T20 Cricket World Cup earlier this year but since that good run, things have gone downhill fast.

They recently lost an ODI series to Afghanistan 2-1. After losing the first two games, the Proteas got some pride back with victory in the third.

South Africa then traveled to Ireland, winning the first T20I but then lost the second to draw the series. They will be hoping for a far better performance in the ODIs.

Temba Bavuma leads the side with some big names returning after the Afghanistan tour. All eyes will be on this series to see if the Proteas can bounce back.
