“Once in an amateur match we were 30 for 6 in a three-day match and ended up winning, but never in a T20. It was quite a shock, but the class of the players showed through. The way Brevis took responsibility and Sherfane performed like a world-class player was all I could ask for as a captain. From a character point of view, it was incredible to come through that. The wicket was very tacky and doing a bit, but we always knew if we got one partnership and reached 130 or 140 that there was enough in the pitch to defend,” said Capitals skipper Keshav Maharaj.
"It was a really good performance, giving us a lot of momentum coming into the play-offs. The boys were up for today, but we were thrown a bit of adversity with Milne, but the guys came together for us to chase it down. Thank goodness it spun! We came up with a plan, backed up the bowlers. We wanted four points, no discussion about bonus points. Quinny and Breeto batted superbly. Once you're in it's easier.
