Somerset vs Middlesex Predictions

Somerset are on a three-match winning streak and I’m backing last season’s finalists to put Middlesex to the sword.

  • Somerset’s Tom Lammonby scored 35 off 22 balls against Sussex.
  • Somerset’s Tom Kohler-Cadmore has scored 20, 23 & 6 in his last 4 innings.
  • Middlesex’s Stephen Eskinazi has scored 34 & 72 in his last 3 innings.
  • Middlesex’s Ben Geddes has scored 51 & 34* in his last 3 innings.

Head-to-Head

Somerset have won four and lost one of their last five matches against Middlesex. Their four wins are also all in a row.

Somerset Form

Somerset made it three wins from their opening three matches of the Vitality Blast season when they beat Sussex by seven wickets.

Matt Henry (3/29) starred with the ball as Somerset restricted Sussex to 166/8 off their 20 overs.

Somerset chased down their target with two overs to spare. Tom Kohler-Cadmore top-scored with 64 off 43 balls.

Somerset Team News

Somerset are in good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team.

Middlesex Form

After suffering back-to-back defeats and a rained-out match against Kent, Middlesex bounced back with a six-wicket win against Essex.

Essex got off to a great start before Tom Helm (4/32) played a key role in them losing six wickets for just 18 runs. They ended on 156/9 off their 20 overs.

Middlesex timed their chase perfectly, reaching 159/4 off 17.3 overs. Stephen Eskinazi top-scored with 72 off 47 balls.

Middlesex Team News

Josh Little is unavailable for selection due to injury, but Max Holden is back in the squad after a successful tour with the England Lions.

Verdict

I am backing Somerset to win. I am also backing Tom Lammonby to top score for Somerset.

Stephen Eskinazi is a good bet to top score for Middlesex.
