Bangladesh vs Ireland 3rd T20I Predictions - Hridoy to power Bangladesh to series triumph

Bangladesh have won three and lost two of their last five T20Is against Ireland.   

Bangladesh bounced back from defeat in the 1st T20I to level the series at 1-1 after securing a 4-wicket win with two balls to spare. 

Tanzim Hasan Sakib (2/41) and Mustafizur Rahman (0/23, econ 5.75) were the best of the home bowlers as Ireland posted 181/4 off their 20 overs. Bangladesh collapsed to 18/4 before Towhid Hridoy (83* off 50 balls) and Jaker Ali (20) got the innings back on track, but they couldn’t prevent Ireland from claiming a 39-run win.

Mahedi Hasan (3/25) made the key early breakthroughs to help reduce Ireland’s score to 170/6 off their 20 overs  in the 2nd T20I. Parvez Hossain Emon (43 off 28) and Litton Das (57 off 37) added 66 for the second wicket to put their side on track for the win. 

Ireland took a 1-0 lead in the series through an impressive display with bat and ball, only to be pipped to the win in the 2nd T20I with two balls to spare.

In the 1st ODI, Matthew Humphreys (4/13), Barry McCarthy (3/23) and Mark Adair

(2/20) rocked the Ireland top order to secure a 39-run win after Ireland had posted a competitive 181/4 off their 20 overs. Harry Tector starred with the bat, hitting five sixes in his 45-ball 69*.

Paul Stirling (29) and Tim Tector (38) got the innings off to a good start in the 2nd T20I, with Lorcan Tucker top-scoring with 41 off 32 balls. Barry McCarthy (0/27, econ 6.75) was the tightest of the Irish bowlers, while Gareth Delany (2/28) and Mark Adair (2/36) picked up crucial wickets, but it was not enough to deny Bangladesh a win with two balls to spare.

“When we are under pressure, our bowlers come back hard. Big thanks to Saifuddin (17 off 7 balls), as it was not easy to come back and do what he did,” said Bangladesh skipper Litton Das after the win in the 2nd T20I. “Not concerned by loss of late wickets. New ball is easier to bat here, so after the break I said I need a run in the top.”

“We’ve shown some real progress over the last two games. There’s a lot that we did really, really well over the last two games, and there’s a few areas that we always look at that we want to try and improve on. In the first two games have really shown the clarity of thought that we’ve put into it, the process that we’re looking for. The T20 game has evolved massively over the last little period and I think we’ve identified that we want to free our players up to go out there and express themselves – and I think we’ve seen that in the last week,” said Heinrich Malan, Ireland’s head coach ahead of the series decider.
