Pakistan are in good form, losing only to India (twice) in recent weeks. Bangladesh have had a great year, but I’m backing Pakistan to claim the win due to their powerful squad.

  • Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan hit three sixes in his 45-ball 58 against India.
  • Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman scored 50 off 37 balls against the UAE.
  • Bangladesh’s Saif Hassan has scored 30, 61 & 69 in his last 3 innings.
  • Bangladesh’s Towhid Hridoy has scored 35*, 26 & 58 in his last 5 innings.

Pakistan have won three and lost two of their last five T20Is against Bangladesh.

Pakistan bounced back from their loss against India to make it two wins from three matches when they beat Sri Lanka by five wickets with two overs to spare. 

Shaheen Shah Afridi (3/28, econ 7.00) struck two early blows to reduce Sri Lanka to 18/2. Hussain Talat and Haris Rauf backed him up, taking two wickets apiece.

Pakistan were in trouble at 57/4 after Sahibzada Farhan (24 off 15) had seen them off to a quick start. Hussain Talat (32* off 30) and Mohammad Nawaz (38* off 24) batted superbly to see Pakistan home with two overs and five wickets to spare.

Bangladesh Form


Bangladesh followed wins against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka by losing to India by 41 runs.
Bangladesh did well to restrict India to 168/6 off their 20 overs. Rishad Hossain (2/27) was the pick of the Tigers bowlers.

Saif Hassan scored a superb 69 off 51 balls but with only Parvez Hossain Emon (21 off 19) scoring above seven, they offered little resistance. Bangladesh were all out for 127 off 19.3 overs.

This is effectively a semi-final for Bangladesh, so they are unlikely to leave anything on the field. Bangladesh need their batters to pull out all the stops to post a big score to put Pakistan under pressure.

I am backing Pakistan to win. I am also backing Sahibzada Farhan to top score for Pakistan.

Saif Hassan is a good bet to top score for Bangladesh.
