Race 2 – Platinum Grey (6)


Jockey: Serino Moodley
Trainer: Justin Snaith
Platinum Grey is a 3-yr-old bay gelding heading into his fourth race after starting with a third place but following it up with a fourth and then a fifth placing. That debut third place was, however, in a field of just four horses, but his last race saw him hold well despite finishing two lengths behind the winner, so I’m backing him to pull out a power performance after a 41-day break from the track.

Race 2 doesn’t have a strong field, with Owner of Creation (2-2-2-7-5) the only other runner with a recent Top 3 finish, so it should be a fun ride to watch as the field fights it out for a maiden win.

Race 4 – Hoodia (6)

Trainer: Willem Nel
Hoodia has nine Top 3 placings in 17 runs, with six of those being second-places along with a single win. The 6-yr-old bay gelding had a strong 2024 before failing to show consistency in 2025 (2-5-2-9-12).

A 363-day break brought him back to the track firing, claiming 3-4 finishes. There is strong competition from Let It Roll (7-5-1-2) and Ultra Quick (7-3-1-1-5) but they both have shown signs of inconsistency. The Wolf has been stable at 4-3-3-4 but doesn’t look ready to step things up after just six Top 3 finishes in 16 starts.

Race 6 – One Path (4)


Jockey: Divesh Ramkhalawon
Trainer: Nathan Kotzen
Race 6 has a handful of recent winners in Dancing in Denmark, Echo, Praise De La Ray, Quandura and Amphitrite, but I like the look of One Path’s legs. The 5-yr-old bay mare started her career in 2024 with a run of 2-3-2-1 before losing her way somewhat. 

She has since run 7-3-2-2-8-7-10-4, but her last race saw her fight from near the back of the bunch to put in a storming run down the final straight to claim fourth, but her legs look strong to take the win if she breaks well from the gates.

Race 8 – Innerbloom (5)


Jockey: Chad Little
Trainer: Lucinda Woodruff
We end the day’s racing with a nail-biter that has seven of its nine runners with wins in their last five runs, Mystique Rouge has been in great form (2-1-2-3) as has Qhawekazi (3-5-3-2-1). Dawn Surprise has been consistent (1-3-3-2-2), but Innerbloom comes into the race with back-to-back wins which put her at the top of the odds list.

The 4-yr-old bay filly Innerbloom has three wins from nine starts, but has no other Top 3 starts. There is a bit of inconsistency on her racecard (1-5-8-8-4-11-1-1), but her heart and legs are strong, claiming her latest win by almost three lengths.
