Hungary vs Georgia

Hungary have taken just one point from their first two matches, losing 1-0 to Ukraine before drawing 0-0 in Northern Ireland. Georgia are also winless and have yet to score, losing 1-0 to Northern Ireland and drawing 0-0 with Ukraine.

Hungary have failed to score three times in five matches but have lost just two of their last 10 matches, while Georgia had been hit with five defeats in 10. This could be a pretty tight clash but a home win looks the most sensible result to back.

France vs Italy

France have made a perfect start under Zinedine Zidane with successive 1-0 wins over Türkiye and Belgium, keeping clean sheets in both. Italy recovered impressively from a 2-0 opening defeat to Belgium by thrashing Turkey 4-1. France are favourites, but the draw at around 4.75 offers a more adventurous angle.

France have won three of their last four matches against Italy, with each of those matches yielding four goals. Both sides have won three and lost two of their last five matches, but France are currently in great form after opening their campaign with a pair of wins.

Italy have 18 goals in their last 10 matches, and with their goalscoring record against France I’m backing a France win with both teams to score.

Poland vs Romania

Both sides desperately need points. Poland drew 0-0 with Bosnia before losing 3-1 in Sweden, while Romania have lost 2-1 to Sweden and 4-2 to Bosnia. Romania’s last four matches have produced goals at both ends, making both teams to score at around 1.85 one of the more interesting options.

Poland had four wins and a draw in a great stretch of five matches but then lost three and drew two of their last five matches, along with scoring 14 times in 10 matches. Romania have five defeats in their last eight matches but have scored 17 times in their last 10 matches. Poland look the stronger side but I’m backing both teams to score.

Faroe Islands vs Slovakia

The Faroes have drawn both of their opening Nations League matches 1-1 (against Kazakhstan and Moldova) while Slovakia lead the group after beating Moldova 2-0 and Kazakhstan 2-1. Slovakia are short at around 1.61, but under 2.5 goals at around 1.80 looks more appealing given the Faroes’ tight recent games.

The Islanders have lost just two of their last 10 matches while Slovakia are unbeaten in five, with four wins and scoring two goals in each of those five matches. Slovakia have conceded just eight goals in 10, so we could well be in for a low-scorer.

I’m backing wins for Hungary, France, goals for both sides between Poland and Romania, while it looks like two goals or less between the Faroe Islands and Slovakia.
