ISLAND TREASURE produced an eye-catching debut effort over 1000m on this course. She was cramped at the 250m mark but ran on strongly to finish second. The daughter of Pomodoro would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat.
Race 2 - BIRDIE AND BOGIE (9)
BIRDIE AND BOGIE should have won his last start as he hung in the latter stages. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Vercingetorix will love the extra furlong on offer and he can shed his maiden tag.
Race 3 - THUNDER MASTER (3)
THUNDER MASTER is the best bet on the card. He moved up like a winner in his last start over 1800m, but was caught in the shadow of the post. The son of Master Of My Fate is bred to enjoy the extra furlong on offer. He meets the right field this afternoon and should take a power of beating.
Race 6 - WHAT A BOLT (6)
WHAT A BOLT is better than his last start over 1200m. His penultimate run when finishing third over this C&D catches the eye. Greg Cheyne takes the ride and if putting his best foot forward, he should be the one to beat.
Race 7 - STIPTELIK (5)
STIPTELIK took on a competitive field in her last start over 1400m. She was an impressive winner on debut over this C&D. The daughter of Snitzel looks to have some class about her and with just 52.5kgs on her back, she should be the one to beat.
