Glasgow vs Toulon Predictions - Glasgow backed for comfortable home win in Champions Cup

Last year these two met in the final of the European Challenge Cup. Toulon won that game 43-19.

Glasgow are having a pretty good season overall but have struggled in the Champions Cup. They have just one win from their opening three games and will need to take the points here to keep their qualification hopes alive.

In December last year, the Warriors began their European Champions Cup with a 28-19 defeat at home to Northampton. They beat Bayonne the following week 12-11 in France before beating Edinburgh at home and losing to the same opposition a week later in the URC.

The Scottish outfit will be disappointed with their result last week as they went down 19-17 at Sandy Park against Exeter. It was an away game the Warriors could have won and would have put a different look on the group.

At home Glasgow will be desperate to win. Expect their strongest available side.

Toulon are struggling this season in the Champions Cup. They have lost all three matches to date and sit bottom of Pool C.

There will however be confidence in the Toulon ranks after they beat the Warriors in the Challenge Cup final last season. While the French club are reasonably strong at home, their away form has been poor.

Toulon lost to Exeter at home by a point and away to Northampton by three points last year in the Champions Cup. While they bounced back with a Top 14 win at home to Stade Francais, they lost their next game at Montpellier.

Last week Toulon suffered a 29-18 loss at home to Munster in the Champions Cup. While Toulon may start to focus on the Top 14, this is their last chance to put themselves in contention to reach the knockout stage.

There is a feeling that Toulon could rest players for this encounter. Much depends on whether they believe they can still win a few games and put themselves back into qualification contention.
