Argentina vs Wales Predictions

Argentina came up short in their Nations Championship opener but have had success against Wales in recent clashes. Wales produced a solid performance in their opening match but lost to Argentina last year.

  • Argentina have won 2 of their last 5 fixtures.
  • Argentina have won 3 of their last 4 matches against Wales.
  • Wales have lost 4 of their last 7 games.
  • Wales lost by 24 points to Argentina in 2025.

Head to Head

Wales have the advantage over Argentina, with 14 victories to eight, including one draw in 23 meetings.

Argentina Form

Argentina mounted a late surge in their Nations Championship match against Scotland, but it was not enough, losing 47-38 after trailing 19-10 at half-time.

In November last year, Argentina had a solid Autumn Nations Series campaign. They defeated Wales 52-28 and Scotland 33-24 before losing 27-23 to England.

Los Pumas had success during the 2025 Rugby Championship. They lost 41-24 to New Zealand, beat the All Blacks 29-23, lost 28-24 to Australia, and defeated the Wallabies 28-26 before losing 67-30 and 29-27 to South Africa.

Argentina will be disappointed to have dropped points in their opening Nations Championship match, but will fancy their chances to bounce back with a win over Wales, having easily defeated their opponents 52-28 last year.

Wales Form

Wales produced a solid second-half performance against Fiji last weekend, winning 39-24 after the score was 10-10 at the break.

Before the start of the Nations Championship, Wales edged the Barbarians at Twickenham, winning 33-31.

The Red Dragons had limited success at the 2026 Six Nations Championship. They lost 48-7 to England, 54-12 to France, 26-23 to Scotland, and 27-17 to Ireland before beating Italy 31-17 to finish in last place.

Wales lost 52-28 to Argentina and defeated Japan 24-23 before losing 52-26 to New Zealand and 73-0 to South Africa during last year's Autumn Nations Series.

Wales have shown improvement lately, but face a tough encounter against Argentina, having lost three of their last four matches against Los Pumas.
