Argentina vs Scotland U20 Predictions - Argentina to see off Scotland in fifth-place semi-final match

Argentina have the advantage over Scotland, with four victories to one in five meetings.

Argentina came close to securing a semi-final place in their clash with England at the 2026 World Rugby U20 Championship on Tuesday, losing 40-38 after trailing 28-12 at the break. 

Before that result, Los Pumitas thrashed the United States 78-14 and defeated Ireland 62-40. 

Argentina finished second overall in Pool C with 12 points from three matches. 

Argentina will fancy their chances against Scotland in their fifth-place semi-final match this weekend, having scored plenty of tries in the tournament, and they have historically done well against their opponents. 

Scotland faced Japan in their final Pool B fixture on Tuesday, winning 43-32 after leading 26-15 at half-time to advance to the fifth-place bracket of the tournament.

Earlier in their World Rugby U20 Championship campaign, the Scots defeated Italy 38-32 before losing 36-26 to New Zealand. 

Scotland placed second in Pool B with 11 points from three games. 

Scotland have lacked consistency, with five losses in seven outings, and will have to play well to beat Argentina in their fifth-place semi-final match, as their opponents have been in great touch at the 2026 World Rugby U20 Championship. 

Bautista Lescano and Simon Pfister scored a brace each against England on Tuesday. 

Tomas Dande and Manuel Cuneo Camargo scored a try each in the match.
