These two met in the group stage for a very exciting match which England won 36-33. The teams on both sides should be different this time around though. I am backing England, who have looked a far better side, to cover the -14 handicap.

Australia U20 are having a very strange year. They came into the Rugby World Championship in good form after finishing second in the U20 Rugby Championship. They beat South Africa and Argentina in that tournament and drew against New Zealand.

However, in their first group game against South Africa, the Junior Wallabies were run off the park, losing 73-17. It was followed by a 34-24 victory over Scotland before going down 36-33 to England.

In their last game, the fifth-place semi-final, Australia put in a strong performance to beat Italy 44-21. It is difficult to know what to expect of this side as their levels are simply too far apart.

England U20 came into this tournament in the hopes of defending the title they won in 2024. After finishing second in the 2025 Six Nations for the U20s, they were certainly among the favourites.

The English got off to a rollicking start, beating Scotland 56-19. Unfortunately, they came up against an in-form South Africa in their second game, losing 32-22. In their final group game, England beat Australia 36-33.

England won their fifth-place semi-final against Wales U20 with ease, cruising to a 51-13 success.
