The article previews the highly anticipated rugby match between England and New Zealand. Despite New Zealand's strong historical record against England, winning nine of their last 11 encounters, England holds a robust nine-match winning streak. Under coach Steve Borthwick, England is rejuvenated and welcomed back vital players like Freddie Stewart and Maro Itoje for this clash. New Zealand, although a historically dominant force, has shown vulnerabilities lately. The article predicts England to capitalize on its form and cover a -1.5 handicap against the All Blacks.

England vs New Zealand Predictions

If we have learned one thing in the past it is that you doubt New Zealand at your own peril. For me, there is just something about this England side and the All Blacks have not looked all that good in their last two games. I am going to back England to win and cover -1.5.

Head to Head

New Zealand have won nine of their last 11 matches against England, including the last three. There was one England win in 2019 and a 2022 draw. The last four games have been decided by two, seven and one point while the other was level.

England Form

England will be full of confidence ahead of this fixture against the All Blacks. They have not beaten New Zealand since the 2019 Rugby World Cup semi-final – in the four games since there has been one draw and three All Black wins.

However, there is a different feel about England this year. Steve Borthwick has brought real change to the England side and an impressive 2025 can get even better on Saturday with a win.

England are on a nine-match winning streak. They only lost one Six Nations game, did the double on Argentina in July despite missing several key players and have beaten Australia and Fiji over the last two weeks.

England Injuries & Team News

Steve Borthwick has made seven changes to his side that beat Fiji with some big guns returning. Freddie Stewart is back at 15 with Goerge Ford going back into flyhalf. Maro Itoje also returns to the fray.

New Zealand Form

New Zealand, ranked two in the world, are arguably the greatest rugby nation since the game turned professional. They are not the best currently but still capable of beating any side.

It is strange because one feels that the All Blacks are not near their best at the moment despite only losing out on the Rugby Championship on points difference and beating Ireland and Scotland in the last two weeks.

However, there are certainly creaks within the All Blacks side and both Ireland and Scotland showed some weaknesses up. Ireland looked a better side for the better part of 60 minutes a fortnight ago until the New Zealand bench made all the difference in the final quarter.

Last weekend, New Zealand got off to a flyer, leading 17-0 at the break against Scotland. In the second half, within a blink of an eye, the Scots were back to 17-all. From there, New Zealand regained ascendency and secured the win.

However, Scotland were held up over the line twice and butchered a try in the corner that they normally would score. It could have been so different, but the Grand Slam is still on for the men in black.

New Zealand Injuries & Team News

Scott Barrett returns to the side to captain as does Simon Parker. That moves Josh Lord and Wallace Sititi to the bench. Billy Procter gets a run in the 13 jumper with Leicester Fainga’anuku shifting to the wing for the injured Caleb Clarke.
