Australia have a 100% win record against Japan. They last met in November 2025, a match Australia won by four points.

Japan started the Nations Championship with a superb performance, beating Italy 27-10 on home soil. It was a surprise result for many given Italy's performances in the 2026 Six Nations.

Another credible performance followed in Australia where japan lost 36-20 to Ireland. It was late in the game before the Irish pulled away.

Their last match didn't go so well though, with the Brave Blossoms going down 42-15 to France.

Australia had a tough start to the Nations Championship against Ireland. They were very good in the first half, building a 13-point lead but ultimately couldn't hold on for the win.

The same pattern occured the following week against France - a top class first half was followed by a second half littered with errors as France ran out victors.

The Wallabies did bounce back in the final game against Italy, winning 57-10 in Perth. That will hopefully give the team confidence along with a new coaching staff that has taken over.
