New Zealand U20 Form

New Zealand scored two converted tries in the first half against the host nation Italy, going into the break with a 14-0 lead.

New Zealand conceded a try soon after the restart but failed to add more points to their tally during the remainder of the match, winning 14-5 against Italy.

Before that result, New Zealand won the recent 2025 U20 Rugby Championship after drawing 29-all against Australia, thrashing Argentina 75-21, and edging the Junior Springboks 48-45.

New Zealand have an excellent record against Georgia, often winning by large margins, giving them the advantage to secure back-to-back victories in the competition.

Georgia scored two converted tries in the first half against Ireland in their Pool C clash last weekend, going into the tunnels trailing by four points.

Georgia added two more converted tries in the second stanza but left it too late to mount a comeback, losing 35-28 to Ireland.

Before that, Georgia lost 35-11 to Australia, 22-16 to Ireland and beat Italy 28-17 in the group stages at the 2024 World Rugby U20 Championship. During the play-off round, they beat Fiji 40-36 in the semi-finals and Italy 24-13 in the final to secure ninth place overall.

Georgia will be pleased with their effort in their opening fixture, but face a tough assignment against a Junior All Blacks side they have yet to beat.
