Moana will be hoping for a stronger season than 2023 where they only won one round robin match all season. There were positive signs though with a few narrow defeats.

While we are early in the season, Moana are already showing signs that they could be far better this time around. In round one, Moana lost 35-21 away to the Highlanders. Despite defeat their performance was promising though.

Last week, Moana pulled off a stunning win, beating Fijian Drua 39-36 in Melbourne. As expected, it was a cracking affair with plenty of running and offloads. It was similar to last season’s clash, but this time Moana came out on the winning side.

Rebels Form

The Rebels started the season poorly in round one as they were thrashed 30-3 by the Brumbies at home. While it is early in the season, it was already clear that vast improvement was needed.

Last weekend the Rebels did manage a victory, beating the Western Force 48-34 on home soil. It was a strong performance and an exciting game, but it was between the two weakest sides from Australia.

That said, it was still a crucial win and a result from which the Rebels can take some confidence.
