Group B of the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations features notable teams including Egypt, Angola, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Keep an eye on Egypt's Mohamed Salah, a prolific scorer and influential figure. Angola's M'Bala Nzola could surprise with his power, while South Africa's Mbekezeli Mbokazi is a young defender making waves. Lyle Foster, also from South Africa, hopes to shine after missing the last AFCON. Zimbabwe's Munashe Garananga brings European club experience to a crucial defensive role. These players are anticipated to make a significant impact in the group stages.

Group B of the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations contains Egypt, Angola, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Below are five players to watch out for in the Group Stages.

Mohamed Salah (Egypt)

Liverpool's star winger is an obvious player to watch. However, more eyes will be on him after his recent outburst at club level, in which he criticised the Reds' coach Arne Slot. He has 61 goals in 107 caps for his country. He scored three goals in AFCON qualifying and four in World Cup qualifying. He could dovetail very well with Man City's Omar Marmoush in attack.

M'Bala Nzola (Angola)

The striker plays in Serie A and has three goals to his name this season for Pisa, after joining on loan from Fiorentina. The 29-year-old only made his debut in 2021 for his country and has just 12 caps to his name. The other teams in Group B could be surprised by the power he brings to the table for an Angola side which made it to the quarter-finals in the 2023 AFCON.

Mbekezeli Mbokazi (South Africa)

The left-footed defender has recently joined Chicago Fire from Orlando Pirates for a fee of $3 million. At just 20 years old, he has shot to attention in the last 12 months. He may only have five international caps to his name, but he donned the captain's armband this season at Pirates and is mature beyond his years, both physically and technically.

Lyle Foster (South Africa)

The Burnley striker missed the last AFCON due to mental health issues. He will want to make up for lost time in Morocco. With plenty of pace and a good first touch, he will lead the line for Bafana Bafana. His 20 caps at the international level have yielded eight goals. He has netted against Man Utd and Wolves in the English Premier League this term and is a potential Golden Boot winner in this competition.

Munashe Garananga (Zimbabwe)

The FC Copenhagen centre back will lead The Warriors' defence. With Wolves' Marshall Munetsi out injured, Garananga is perhaps the highest-profile member of the squad. He made his debut just two years ago for his country, but with plenty of experience in European club competitions, he is one who could soon attract a big transfer.
