Algeria Women Form

Algeria qualified for the quarter-finals of WAFCON after they held Nigeria to a goalless draw in their final group stage match last weekend.

Algeria struggled to create any meaningful chances to score a goal during the contest, but held Nigeria at bay to register a draw.

Algeria had 45% possession and one shot in the match, with zero attempts on target.

Before that, Algeria edged Botswana 1-0 in their opening Group B game and drew 0-0 against Tunisia.

Algeria have won three of their last five fixtures, including one loss and one draw. They scored five goals and conceded three.

Algeria have yet to lose a match in the competition; however, they have not been the most prolific upfront, which could be their undoing when they take on Ghana for a place in the semi-finals.

Ghana Women Form

Ghana secured their place in the quarter-finals of WAFCON with a comprehensive victory over Tanzania on Monday, winning by four goals to one.

Ghana took the lead after 12 minutes of play before Tanzania equalised with four minutes remaining in the half.

Ghana edged ahead from a penalty kick in the 63rd minute of the match, grabbing their third goal at the 87-minute mark and their fourth on the stroke of full-time.

Ghana had 56% possession and 18 shots in the game, with nine attempts on target.

Before that result, Ghana lost the opening Group C match 2-0 to South Africa and drew 1-1 against Mali.

Ghana have won two of their last five fixtures, including two losses and one draw. They scored ten goals and conceded seven.

Ghana regained their touch in their last match, scoring plenty of goals; however, they will need to reproduce a similar display against an Algerian side that does not concede many goals at the back.
