DR Congo drew level at the 70-minute mark, only to have Morocco regain their advantage five minutes later before adding a fourth goal from a spot kick seven minutes from full-time.

Before that result, Morocco drew their opening group stage match 2-2 with Zambia.

Senegal lost their second Group A match to Zambia in a five-goal thriller midweek, losing by three goals to two. 

Senegal had the perfect start, taking the lead after five minutes of play before Zambia equalised seven minutes later.

Senegal conceded six minutes into the second half and again in the 73rd minute of the match before pulling a goal back seven minutes later from a penalty kick. 

Senegal had 51% possession and 16 shots in the game, with five attempts on target.

Before that, Senegal thrashed DR Congo 4-0 in their opening WAFCON match.

Senegal have secured three victories in their last five matches, including two losses. They have scored ten goals and conceded four.

Senegal must win to keep their hopes alive in the competition; however, they have lost three consecutive times to Morocco, including a 7-0 thrashing in 2024.

Nguenar Ndiaye scored a brace against Zambia, taking her tally to four goals in this edition of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations.
