South Africa stormed into the quarter-finals at WAFCON with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Mali on Monday. 

Banyana Banyana had the perfect start, taking the lead after five minutes of play and going further ahead at the 32-minute mark.

South Africa scored their third goal in the 61st minute of the match and their fourth 18 minutes later to complete the rout. 

Banyana Banyana had 64% possession and 14 shots in the game, with eight attempts on target.

Before that, South Africa defeated Ghana 2-0 in their opening Group C fixture and drew 1-1 against Tanzania.

Senegal Women Form


Senegal fell to a narrow 1-0 loss to Morocco last weekend but did enough to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations. 

Senegal were on course to go into halftime with the score unchanged since kick-off before Morocco slotted home a penalty in the second minute of stoppage time. 

Senegal could not find a way back into the match during the remainder of the contest. 

Senegal had 36% possession and five shots in the game, with three attempts on target.

Before that, Senegal thrashed DR Congo 4-0 in their opening WAFCON match before losing 3-2 to Zambia. 

Senegal have won two of their last five matches, including two defeats. They have scored nine goals and conceded five.

Senegal had a great start to the competition but have lost their last two fixtures, making their task of beating a South African side in top form a difficult one.
