Mamelodi Sundowns vs Belouizdad Predictions & Tips - Downs to extend unbeaten home CAF record

Sundowns are playing very well with 11 wins in their last 13 matches and are 28 matches without defeat. Head coach Rulani Mokwena has promised a strong team and will want to continue the side’s unbeaten run. Belouizdad have struggled to win of late so I am tipping a home win.

These sides have only met on one previous occasion as Sundowns beat Belouizdad 5-1 away from home in February. The home side had a man sent off after three minutes.

Mamelodi Sundowns are 27 matches without defeat across all competitions and have won 12 of their last 13. They sit top of the PSL table and have already secured top spot in their CAF Champions League.

A 5-1 victory away at Belouzidad and a 2-1 away win at TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League was followed by a 2-1 away win at Stellenbosch. Sundowns then beat TP Mazembe 1-0 at home before drawing 1-1 at home with Black Leopards.

A 0-0 draw away at Al Hilal Omdurman followed by a 3-1 victory over TTM away from home in their last match.

Sundowns have qualified and play again on Monday so will rotate their side heavily for this match. They have a very strong squad so the starting XI will still be strong. Goalkeer Ricardo Goss and attacker Sibusiso Vilakazi and Mauricio Affonso are three players expected to start.

Kermit Erasmus is injured in attack and Andile Jali misses out in midfield with a muscle problem.

Belouizdad sit 10th in the Algerian Ligue 1 table but they have matches in hand and have lost just one of their 15 league matches thus far. They are draw specialists with ten draws in their last 16 matches in all competitions.

Belouizdad sit second in their CAF Champions League group. After a 0-0 draw away at Al Hilal Omdurman, they 1-0 away in the league to US Biskra before winning 3-1 away at ASO Chlef in Ligue 1. A 1-1 home draw with WA Tlemcen followed.

In their last match, they picked up a massive result in beating TP Mazembe 2-0 at home in the CAF Champions League.

Belouizdad are expected to play their best XI in this match with qualification on the line.

Midfielder Amir Sayoud and striker Youcef Bechou were their goalscorers in the last match. Both came on as substitutes to get onto the scoresheet and are expected to be rewarded with starts in this one.
