After a 2-1 to Cape Town City, Chiefs beat Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 after a fine comeback before a 1-0 loss to Chippa United. Chiefs then drew at Bloemfontein Celtic before losing 2-1 at TTM and drawing 1-1 with Swallows.

In their last match, Chiefs beat Simba 4-0 in the first leg as they battered them with crosses, set plays and long balls. Samir Nurkovic scored twice and Leonardo Castro and Erick Mathoho got one each.

Kaizer Chiefs remain without forward Khama Billiat due to a leg injury. Dumisani Zuma went off injured in the first leg so Leonardo Castro could partner Samir Nurkovic from the start.
