SuperSport United vs Modern Future Predictions - Matsatsantsa win to keep CAF hopes alive

These sides met for the first time in November.

SuperSport have put a run of five successive losses behind them. Their last six fixtures have seen just one defeat.

They won 2-1 in the PSL at Moroka Swallows and beat Al Hilal 2-1 at home in the CAF Confederations Cup. A 3-1 win over Orlando Pirates was followed by a shock 3-1 loss at Richards Bay with ten men.

They began 2024 with a 1-1 home draw vs Stellenbosch. In midweek, they beat Cape Town City on penalties after drawing 1-1 after extra time. 

At the back, Ime Okon and Keagan Allan are available after domestic suspension. 

Thulani Hlatshwayo is injured in defence. Coach Gavin Hunt could rotate his side somewhat.

The Egyptian club have been in pretty poor form for a while. Their last ten matches have seen them win just once in all competitions.

After losing 4-2 to Al Ahly in the Super Cup, they played three matches in the League Cup: losing 1-0 at home to Al Ittihad, drawing 0-0 at Smouha and beating Baladiyyat Al Mehalla 1-0. A 2-0 loss at the latter opponents followed in the Egyptian Premier League.

On Monday, Modern Future drew 2-2 at home to Al Mokawloon. They led 1-0 and 2-1 and threw away two points. 

Modern Future made five changes to their XI in midweek. Many of the rotated players are set to return to the XI here. 

Kajally Drammeh is set to start down the right wing. Ahmed Atef is competing with Marwan Mohsen to lead the line.
