Coming into the Tournament, Botswana had a decent run of results, drawing 1-1 against Mauritania and Egypt in AFCON qualifiers late last year. They then lost 3-1 to Algeria in March during the World Cup qualifiers but bounced back to beat Somalia 2-0 a week later.
