Mauritius vs Zimbabwe Predictions
Mauritius has a poor record against Zimbabwe but have their best available squad at the COSAFA Cup. Zimbabwe are playing friendlies during this period with most of their top players in that squad, they could struggle. I am backing this fixture to end in a draw.

- Zimbabwe Form
- Mauritius have lost 3 of their last 4 matches.
- Zimbabwe have won their last 3 matches against Mauritius.
- Zimbabwe have drawn 3 of their last 4 matches.
- Zimbabwe have seen BTTS in their last 4 matches.
Head to Head
These two sides have met six times with Zimbabwe winning four while there have been two draws. They last met in 2019; a match Zimbabwe won 3-1.
Mauritius Form
Mauritius will be looking for a confidence boosting win in their COSAFA Cup opener. They have not won since June 2024 when they defeated Eswatini 2-1 at home in a World Cup qualifier.
That victory was followed by a 0-0 draw against India and a 2-0 defeat to Syria in the Intercontinental Cup. Mauritius then suffered a 1-0 defeat to Hong Kong in November last year.
This year, they have featured in two World Cup qualifiers. They lost 1-0 in Cape Verde and drew 3-3 in Eswatini.
Zimbabwe Form
Zimbabwe have seldom threatened on the African continent, but they have some good results behind them in recent times. They have drawn three of their last four fixtures.
While Zimbabwe’s last victory came in an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Namibia in October 2024, they have had good results since then. They narrowly lost 2-1 in Cameroon in an AFCON qualifier before a 2-2 home draw against Benin in a World Cup qualifier.
Their last match, also a World Cup qualifier in March this year, ended in a very respectable 1-1 draw away to Nigeria. It was not a result many expected but a Tawanda Chirewa strike in the 90th minute secured the draw.
Verdict
I am backing this match to end in a draw. 1-1 is the likely scoreline.
