Stoke vs Blackburn

A win should give Blackburn confidence that they won’t be caught up in the relegation battle and they’ve got form behind them. With 2 wins and 2 draws in their last 4, they come into this clash as favourites against a Stoke side that has lost 2 in their last 3.

Blackburn’s away form was poor six weeks ago but they’ve won 3 of their last 5 on the road. Stoke haven’t lost in 5 at home and have won 3 of their last 4, but given Blackburn’s need for a win this has the feeling of a hard-fought draw.

Leicester vs Swansea

Leicester are on the edge of relegation by virtue of a 6-point Federation penalty, so they will be full of fire to fight their way to safety. Swansea have little to play for and it shows in their results, with 2 losses followed by 2 draws in their last 4 matches. The Foxes have drawn their last 3 matches, although they have just 1 win in their last 7 matches at home.

As for Swansea, 6 defeats and a draw in their last 10 on the road suggests this is a match to be won by the team that doesn’t make the big mistakes. With Leicester desperate to save their Championship status I’m backing them to stay focussed to take the 3 points.

Oxford vs Watford

Oxford will be desperate for the win that could lift them out of the relegation zone, so they’re playing Watford at the right time. Oxford have lost just once in 7 matches while Watford have just 1 win in 6 matches.

On the road Watford have just 1 win in 9 matches, so their chances of winning aren’t strong. Sadly for Oxford, their home form isn’t brilliant, although they have won 2 and drawn 2 of their last 4 matches… but their last 10 has seen them lose 4, draw 4 and win just 2.

This could be an even shootout, but with home ground advantage, their recent run of 4 matches without defeat and their desperation to pick up a win, I’m pegging Oxford to take this one. A draw is possibly the more sensible call, but I'm backing Oxford's fight to see them through.

Sheffield United vs Hull

Sheffield are looking safe from the relegation battle and Hull are fairly solid for a place in the playoffs, although they are catchable by Wrexham and Derby. Hull have lost just 3 of their last 9 matches while Sheffield have just 1 win in their last 8 matches.

Hull do travel well, losing just 2 of their last 10 on the road, while Sheffield’s home form is far from convincing. The Blades have lost 3 and drawn 2 of their last 6 home matches, so they shouldn’t pose a huge challenge for a Hull side that has been playing some great football this season.

Wins for Leicester, Oxford and Hull, while Stoke-Blackburn looks set to even with honours even.
