Mansfield vs Arsenal Predictions - Arsenal to maul struggling League One side Mansfield

Last updated: 06 Mar 2026

Arsenal are highly favored to win against Mansfield in their upcoming FA Cup encounter, despite planning to rotate their squad ahead of another crucial match against Bayer Leverkusen. While Mansfield has struggled in their league, winning only two of their last ten home games, Arsenal's impressive away record and pursuit of a quadruple suggest they will secure victory. The Gunners’ success this season is marked by their unbeaten streak in major tournaments. Nigel Clough’s Mansfield squad will attempt to defend against Arsenal’s strength, but a win for the Gunners seems inevitable.

Mansfield vs Arsenal Predictions

Mansfield are struggling in League One, while Arsenal are pushing for the quadruple. Arsenal will definitely rotate their squad, but they should be far too strong for Mansfield, who should put up a strong fight with their own crowd behind them.

  • Mansfield are just five points above the League One drop zone.
  • Mansfield have won just 10 of their 33 League One matches.
  • Mansfield have lost five and drawn three of their last 10 home matches.
  • Arsenal are highly backed to win all four of the major titles up for grabs.
  • Arsenal have won 17 of their last 23 matches on the road (D4, L1).
  • Arsenal are seven points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Head-to-Head

The two sides have never met before in a competitive clash.

Mansfield Form

Mansfield haven’t won in League One for nine matches, losing three times and going goalless in five of those matches.

Mansfield will be loving their run in the FA Cup, and it’s a credit to them that they’ve won their last three FA Cup matches on the road.

At home in all competitions they haven’t won in five matches and have won just two of their last 10, so home ground advantage should count for little more than scratching out a consolation goal.

Arsenal Form

The Gunners have scored four goals in both of their last two FA Cup games. They have lost just two of their last 20 away matches, 1-0 away to Liverpool and 2-1 to Aston Villa.

With nine wins in their last 12 on the road, along with three draws, I can’t see them not smashing Mansfield.

They’re in the running for an unparalleled quadruple, so I can’t see them going easy or fielding a string of youngsters in this clash.

Mansfield vs Arsenal Team News & Squads

Arsenal travel to play face Bayer Leverkusen three days after this FA Cup clash, so they will definitely rotate some players, but with the quadruple on the cards they will not take this clash lightly.

Ben White is a doubt for Arsenal after missing the last few matches, possibly paving the way for a starting berth for teenager Marli Salmon. William Saliba’s ankle injury should keep him sidelined, with Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard also still on the treatment table.

Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, Gabriel and Jurrien Timber will all likely be rested.

Mansfield boss Nigel Clough admitted that Arsenal are a phenomenal force to be reckoned with, but is excited about the opportunity to host them in the FA Cup.

"Whatever Arsenal have been doing, people will copy as well, because it is so successful to a certain degree, but they haven't got Saliba or Gabriel and people like that on the end of it, but they can certainly try and emulate it and cause problems in the same sort of way at our level," said Clough in his pre-match press-conference.

"But how they do it is incredibly, incredibly efficient and successful, so it is a big part of the game. We just do our best we can, in terms of the goalkeeper, he has to help us out with a little punch or a catch now and again.

"And the other most important thing is don't give them away. If you can help, don't give corners away. Do everything you can not to give them the chance to put a set-play in your six-yard box," added Clough.

Mansfield (predicted XI): Roberts; Knoyle, Oshilaja, Blake-Tracy; Akins, Lewis, Reed, McLaughlin; Evans, Roberts; Oates.

Arsenal (predicted XI): Kepa; Salmon, Mosquera, Calafiori, Lewis-Skelly; Norgaard, Eze, Havertz; Madueke, Jesus, Martinelli.

Verdict

I am backing Arsenal to win and to score three or more goals. Mansfield are likely to throw everything at their visitors and could pick up a late consolation goal as the Gunners take their foot off the gas.
