Newcastle vs Sunderland

Newcastle have been through the mill in the last few weeks, beating PSV, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Manchester United and drawing 1-1 with Barcelona, all within their last 10 games. Their last match saw them lose the return leg to the Spanish giants 7-2 as they crashed out of the Champions League.

Sunderland have lost three of their last five games, netting just three times and going goalless in their last two matches. They lost three Premier League matches in a row on the road, following it up with a draw and a win. The form is slightly on Sunderland’s side, but Newcastle have played some good football and I’m backing them to bounce back with a win to nil.

Tottenham vs Notts Forest

This is a massive match in the relegation battle, with both sides less than one win ahead of 18th-placed West Ham. Forest have just one win in their last 10 matches, losing four of their last six matches. They’ve put in some strong performances in their last six matches, losing by just one goal to Liverpool, drawing 2-2 away to Man City and drawing 0-0 with Fulham in their last match.

Spurs lost six matches on the bounce before a superb 1-1 draw away to Liverpool, followed by a 3-2 win over Athletico Madrid in the Champions League. Spurs should come into this match with a lot more confidence and I’m backing them to claim the win, with both sides to score.

Aston Villa vs West Ham

Villa are in the last Champions League spot after a superb season, while West Ham are in 18th spot. Villa have hit a major bump in the road, losing their last three Premier League matches and drawing one of their last five matches. Despite their desperate position, West Ham have been strong of late, winning four, drawing three and losing just one of their last eight matches.

At home, Villa have three defeats in their last five matches and just one point in their last three matches. West Ham have hit their stride on the road, winning four of their last six away matches, losing only to Liverpool and Chelsea. They have kept clean sheets in their last three wins, while Villa have scored just three goals in their last five home matches in the Premier League.

This is a big call, but based on current form and goal-scoring achievements, I’m backing the Hammers to pick up a massive three points to give them hope for Premier League football next season.

Newcastle to keep their push for Europe going with a win over Sunderland. Tottenham to take the points from Notts Forest, while West Ham to pull off a major win away to Aston Villa.
