Spain vs Croatia Predictions

Croatia had an impressive appearance in Lisbon last week, beating Portugal 2-1. Spain had a stellar run in the qualifiers and won their last two friendlies, so I expect both sides to find the net.

  • Spain have seen BTTS in 2 of their last 3 matches against Croatia.
  • Spain have scored 18 goals in their last 6 matches.
  • Croatia have scored 9 goals in their last 3 matches.

Head to Head

In 10 matches there has only been one draw along with six Spain victories. Croatia have been victorious on three occasions.

Their last encounter was in the final of the UEFA Nations League in 2023, a match Spain won on penalties after a 0-0 draw.

Spain Form

Spain head into Euro 2024 with high confidence after earning two convincing victories in friendly matches earlier this month.

The Red Fury had zero troubles against minnows Andorra 5-0, while even better performance was seen three days after against Northern Ireland 5-1. Mikel Oyarzabal scoring four goals in those encounters, Pedri bagging two.

Luis de la Fuente’s side was less successful during their international friendlies in March where they lost to Colombia 1-0 and drawn against Brazil 3-3.

Spain were one of the most successful teams in the EURO 2024 qualifiers, topping their group with 21 points (seven wins, one loss) ahead of Scotland, Norway, Georgia and Cyprus, scoring 25 and allowing just five goals.

Croatia Form

Croatia made an impressive appearance in Lisbon last week, defeating the favored Portugal 2-1. Luka Modric converted a penalty in the first half, and Ante Budimir scored the winning goal in the second half. The Blazers had 2.72-1.39 expected goals, 47% possession, and 16-15 shots in that match.

Zlatko Dalic’s side beat North Macedonia 3-0 earlier this month, with Lovro Majer scoring the opening two goals in Rijeka and Mario Pasalic netting off the bench.

The Blazers went to Cairo to play two friendlies in March. They drew 0-0 against Tunisia before a 4-2 win against Egypt, with Nikola Vlašić, Bruno Petkovic, Andrej Kramaric, and Lovro Majer as the goalscorers.

Croatia faced difficulties in the EURO 2024 qualifiers but eventually finished 2nd in Group D with five wins, one draw, and two defeats. They were one point behind Turkey and ahead of Wales, Armenia, and Latvia.

Verdict

Both sides are in red-hot form at the moment, having earned two straight victories in June friendlies while maintaining high efficiency. Betting on both teams to score stands out as the best bet for this clash in Berlin.
