Uganda will have a lot more urgency in this game as it is simply a must-win for them. Should they get over the line, the World Cup will not be far away. I am backing the visitors to get the victory with BTTS.

Uganda beat Botswana 1-0 at home when these sides last met in June 2024.

Botswana are out of the running for qualification although they have had some good performances in the World Cup qualification group. They are currently fifth in Group G, six points off second and third with two games to play.

However, Botswana have won three of their eight matches, all of which game in their last five outings. In their September qualifiers, Botswana lost 3-1 in Algeria before going 2-0 down in Mozambique four days later.

They required at least one win from those two fixtures to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Uganda Form

Uganda have had a very strong qualification round thus far, winning five of their eight matches. They are in second place with 15 points, ahead of Mozambique on goal difference. Algeria, who are top, have 19 points and are unlikely to be caught.

With the battle for second place on the go, this is simply a must-win for Uganda. They have to travel to Algeria next week, so taking three points here will go a long way to securing second place.

In September, Uganda won both of their qualification games to nil. They beat rivals for second place, Mozambique 4-0 at home before seeing off Somalia 2-0 at home.
