Cameroon vs Malawi Predictions

Cameroon are very strong at home and did well in their recent AFCON qualifiers. Malawi have struggled defensively of late. I am tipping a low scoring match with the Indomitable Lions to win at home.

  • Cameroon have won 7 of their last 10 home matches (3 draws)(World Cup qualifiers).
  • Cameroon have seen under 2.5 goals in 9 of their last 10 matches (all competitions).
  • Malawi have lost 7 of their last 12 matches (2 wins, 2 draws)(all competitions).
  • Malawi have conceded 2+ goals in 6 of their last 10 matches (all competitions).

Head to Head

Cameroon hold a 1-0 advantage against Malawi across their two previous meetings with one draw.

The sides last met in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in 2015 as the match finished in a 0-0 draw.

Cameroon Form

Cameroon finished top of their 2021 AFCON qualifying group with three wins and two draws in six matches.

A 2-0 qualifier win in Mozambique was followed by hosting the 2021 CHAN tournament. They lost 4-0 to Morocco in the semi-finals before losing 2-0 to Guinea in the third-place playoff.

Cameroon then lost 3-1 at Cape Verde and drew 0-0 with Rwanda to complete AFCON qualification. In June, they played Nigeria in two friendlies as they won 1-0 and then drew 0-0.

Malawi qualified for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations after finishing second in their group. They won 1-0 in South Sudan and 1-0 against Uganda to secure qualification as striker Richard Mbulu scored both goals.

The Flames played in the recent COSAFA Cup but failed to win any of their four matches. A 2-2 draw with Zimbabwe was followed by a 2-0 defeat to Mozambique.
