Cameroon vs Mozambique Preview & Tips - Cameroon to win to nil against Mozambique

Cameroon hold a 2-0 advantage against Mozambique in their only two previous meetings.

The sides last met in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in 2020 as Cameroon won 2-0 in Mozambique.

Cameroon are in great form on their own turf. With three wins and two draws in six matches, they topped their 2022 AFCON qualification group.

They lost 3-1 in Cape Verde and drew 0-0 at home with Rwanda to complete AFCON qualifiers. In June, Cameroon played two friendlies against Nigeria as they won 1-0 and then drew 0-0.

The Indomitable Lions 2022 World Cup qualifiers started with a 2-0 home win against Malawi. Their last match saw a 2-1 defeat in Ivory Coast. Moumi Ngamaleu managed to score the consolation goal.

Coach Antonio Conceiçao remains without goalkeeper Andre Onana due to a doping ban.

Centre forward Ignatius Ganago has been called up to replace the injured striker Paul-Georges Ntep. Winger Clinton N’jie has been omitted once again.

Mozambique are in poor form with just two wins in their last 13 matches in all competitions. They finished bottom of their AFCON 2022 qualification group and finished third in the 2021 COSAFA Cup.

A solid 0-0 home draw against Ivory Coast saw them start the 2022 World Cup qualifiers with a positive result. Mozambique then traveled to Malawi but failed to back up their good start.

Their match against Malawi ended in a 1-0 defeat. It was a match with very few chances but the hosts early goal was enough to see off Mozambique.

Mozambique have a settled squad with no major injuries for coach Horácio Gonçalves to deal with.

Edson Sitoe Mexer has been called up and the Bordeaux defender is a key man. Reinildo Mandava of Lille could partner him.
