This game is very tough to call and with Group G wide open, anything can really happen. I don’t see many goals in this game despite being a must win for Guinea, while Mozambique could really do with a win, a draw will not be catastrophic. I am backing this to end level.

Mozambique are level on points in Group G with Uganda (15) but take third place on goal difference while Uganda sit second. This is a very hot race to take second place, and victory here will put Mozambique in the pound seat, regardless of Uganda’s result.

A draw may be sufficient with one game to play, but defeat is not an option for Mozambique. While Uganda have a tough match against Botswana, they have to face Algeria in their final game next week while Mozambique plays Somalia.

However, defeat here will make it very tough for Mozambique to qualify if Uganda beat Botswana while Guinea are only four points behind the two of them as well.

Mozambique were horrible in September when they suffered a 4-0 loss to Uganda as they gave up second place. They bounced back to beat Botswana 2-0 a few days later, but that first loss put them in jeopardy.

Guinea Form

Guinea are four points off second and third in Group G of the World Cup qualifiers. With just two matches to play, it is highly unlikely that Guinea can catch both, however, not impossible.

All Guinea can do is win their two matches and hope for the best. Defeating Mozambique go a long way to putting themselves back into the equation.

In their two September 2024 qualifiers, Guinea got two impressive results, beating Somalia 3-0 and holding Algeria to a 0-0 draw at home.
