Niger lost their opening World Cup qualifying game on Saturday at home to Tanzania. It wasn’t a good start for their campaign, and another loss here will set them on a very tough path to secure a spot in the top two.

It was a game Niger would have fancied winning on home soil, but they didn’t have nearly enough impetus in their push for all three points. While it was tight for the entire 90 minutes, Niger never really looked like threatening after going down in the 56th minute.

The 1-0 loss means they must simply take all three points from this game just to stay in touch.

Niger won’t make too many changes given their squad doesn’t have that much quality. Defensively they will however need to be very solid.

Zambia Form

Zambia have a strong side and should challenge in this group. They were excellent on Friday evening, beating Congo 4-2 at home in their first World Cup qualifying group match.

Despite going 1-0 early on, Zambia were 2-1 down by the 15th minute. They leveled before the break though and then scored twice in the second half to secure the points.

Patson Daka scored a brace in the game and is one to watch this weekend again.

Patson Daka was superb this past weekend with his brace. He will be looking to get add more goals to his tally in Niger.
