Head to Head

Algeria Form

Algeria left it late to secure a 1-1 draw against Guinea in their CAF African Nations Championship Group C encounter last weekend.

Algeria dominated proceedings but failed to find an opening in the first half, going into the break on level terms with Guinea.

Algeria continued to press for a goal in the second half, but Guinea took the lead after 62 minutes of play, before the equaliser was scored in the 88th minute of the game.

Algeria had 59% possession and 17 shots in the match, with nine on target.

Algeria defeated Uganda 3-0 and drew 1-1 against South Africa in their opening CHAN group games.

The Fennec Foxes have won two of their last five matches, including one loss and two draws. They scored ten goals and conceded six.

Algeria are undefeated in the tournament and will fancy their chances to reach the quarter-finals when taking on a Niger side they have defeated nine consecutive times.

Niger Form

Niger registered their first point in this edition of the CAF African Nations Championship after holding South Africa to a goalless draw last weekend.

Niger had moments to score during the contest against South Africa but failed once again to find a goal.

The Mena had 38% possession and 11 shots in the game, with two on target.

Earlier in the tournament, Niger lost 1-0 to Guinea and 2-0 to Uganda in their opening group matches.

The Mena have recorded three draws in their last five fixtures, including two losses. They scored one goal and conceded four at the back.

Niger will have to rediscover their touch to have a chance of victory, as they are winless in this edition of CHAN and have a dismal record against Algeria.
