Madagascar kept their hopes alive of reaching the knockout rounds of CHAN after securing a vital 2-0 victory against the Central African Republic mid-week. 

Madagascar could not find an opening in the first half against the Central African Republic, going into the break on level terms.

Madagascar continued to press for a goal in the second half and scored in the 84th minute of the match, and grabbed their second in the fourth minute of stoppage time to seal the victory. 

Bareas had 57% possession and 18 shots in the game, with seven attempts on target. 

Madagascar drew 0-0 against Mauritania and lost 2-1 to Tanzania in their first two CAF African Nations Championship matches.

Bareas have recorded one victory in their last five fixtures, including three losses and one draw. They scored four goals and conceded seven. 

Madagascar will be out to replicate their winning performance from their previous outing and must beat Burkina Faso by one goal or more to reach the quarter-finals.
